EDU6171   Foundation Units: Learning, Teaching and Curriculum   (30 credits)

Description

This module will provide a starting point for study on this programme, in the sense that it will encourage students to reflect upon and to question the existing concepts, beliefs, values, experiences and practices brought to this programme of study. It offers a critical consideration of learning and theories of learning, the processes of reflection and reflective practice, the nature of and models of the curriculum, the impact of educational policy on educational practice, the impact of ICT and e-learning on education and the relationship between language, educational and cultural issues, and facilitates the capability to apply these understandings in a range of teaching and learning contexts.
